Counselling Support

Bipolar Disorder

Steady, understanding support through the highs and lows.

Bipolar Disorder

Living with bipolar disorder often means navigating real extremes—periods of low mood that can look like depression, and periods of elevated mood, energy, or impulsivity. It can be disorientating, exhausting, and isolating, especially when the people around you struggle to understand what you're experiencing.

How I Can Support You

Counselling for bipolar disorder works alongside any psychiatric care and medication you're already receiving—it isn't a replacement for that support, but a space to process everything that sits around it. Together, we can:

  • Make sense of your patterns, triggers, and early warning signs
  • Process the impact of mood episodes on your relationships, work, and sense of self
  • Work through shame or self-criticism that can follow difficult episodes
  • Build a stable, trusting relationship that holds steady across your highs and lows

A Collaborative Approach

If you're also under the care of a psychiatrist or GP, I'm happy to work alongside that support in whatever way feels helpful to you. My role is to offer a consistent, compassionate space—not to diagnose or manage medication, but to help you understand and live alongside your experience with more self-compassion.

On steadiness The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
