Neurodiversity & Self-Understanding

Compassionate support for this challenge.

Neurodiversity & Self-Understanding

I also work with neurodiversity, bringing both professional training and lived experience into my practice. My approach is to support you in seeing your neurodiversity as a part of you, not the whole of you. While it can bring real challenges, it does not define your worth or identity.

The "Wall of Awful"

Many neurodivergent people have experienced higher levels of criticism, misunderstanding, or feeling "different" in environments not designed for their needs. Over time, this can build a "wall of awful"—a collection of internal beliefs, shame, and self-criticism that makes everyday tasks feel heavier and more exhausting.

Reframing Your Experience

Rather than "I'm not as good as others," we work toward "this is where I struggle" and "these are the supports I need."

Emotional & Practical Support

We explore:

  • How neurodiversity affects your emotional wellbeing and self-image
  • Understanding your unique strengths and challenges
  • Reducing self-criticism and developing self-acceptance
  • Practical strategies for organization and emotional regulation
  • Building systems and beliefs that actually support your way of being
  • Helping you feel more capable, understood, and self-accepting
