Panic Attacks & Physical Anxiety
Compassionate support for this challenge.
Panic Attacks & Physical Anxiety
Panic can feel frightening and consuming, often leaving you worried about when it may happen again. I support you in understanding your body's fear response, reducing the fear around the symptoms themselves, and helping you feel safer within your own body again.
What Panic Attacks Can Feel Like
Panic attacks can include:
- Sudden intense fear or sense of dread
- Physical symptoms: racing heart, shortness of breath, dizziness
- Feeling disconnected from your body or surroundings
- Fear of dying or losing control
- Worry about having another attack ("fear of fear")
- Avoidance of situations where panic has happened before
Understanding Your Body's Response
Panic is your nervous system's fear alarm being triggered. While the physical symptoms feel very real and frightening, they are your body's attempt to protect you from perceived danger. The key is helping your nervous system understand that you are safe, even when it feels like you're not.
How I Can Help
Together, we work to:
- Understand what triggers your panic and what your body is responding to
- Learn to regulate your nervous system and feel safer in your body
- Reduce the secondary fear (fear of the panic itself)
- Build confidence that you can manage these moments
- Develop practical grounding techniques for when panic arises
