Eating Disorders & Body Image
A supportive space to explore your relationship with food and your body.
Eating Disorders & Body Image
Eating disorders—including anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating disorder, and body dysmorphic disorder (BDD)—are rarely just about food or appearance. Underneath, they're often about control, safety, worth, or ways of coping with feelings that feel too big to hold. This is sensitive, sometimes medically serious territory, and it takes courage to reach out.
A Note on Safety
If you are currently unwell with an eating disorder, medical support alongside therapy is often important, and I will always discuss this openly with you. Counselling isn't a substitute for medical monitoring where that's needed, but it can be a vital part of your wider care and recovery.
How We Work Together
We work gently and collaboratively to:
- Understand what your relationship with food and your body is communicating
- Explore the feelings, beliefs, or experiences that sit underneath the eating disorder
- Build a kinder, less critical relationship with yourself and your body
- Develop ways of coping that don't rely on controlling food, weight, or appearance
Whatever stage you're at—whether you're just starting to notice a problem, or you've lived with it for years—there is no judgement here, only a genuine wish to understand and support you.
